Right now there is a total lunar eclipse occurring that will be followed by a solar eclipse on September 11th . Will these eclipses coincide with some sort of mass panic and historical shock?

It appears possible given the high anxiety in financial markets since the DJIA peaked at 14,000 in July. Indeed, the stock market is currently charting a course eerily similar to the pattern witnessed going into the Great Crashes of '29 and '87:

Notably, the late-October financial panic in 1929 occurred just after the full moon going into a solar eclipse on November 1st of that year and the October '87 crash occurred in the immediate wake of a lunar eclipse on October 7th of that year. Both patterns were consistent with the relationship between eclipses and panics discovered by Stephen Puetz. Consider the following excerpt from Peter Eliades online "Current Observations":

We seldom use much newsletter space for the ideas of others, but the theories we are about to present fit together so well, we believe you will find them as interesting as we do. The two researchers are Steve Puetz (pronounced "pits") and Chris Carolan. Chris just won the 1998 Charles H. Dow Award for his original research and the complete article is offered on his website at http://www.calendarresearch.com . The research by Puetz was first noted in our October 10, 1995 newsletter. Here is what we wrote: "Puetz attempted to discover if eclipses and market crashes were somehow connected. Without discussing our own opinion on the potential connection between astronomical configurations and market timing, let's simply relate to you the basic findings discussed by Puetz. He emphasized that he is not contending that full moons close to solar eclipses cause market crashes. But he does conclude that a full moon in general and a lunar (eclipse) full moon close to solar eclipses, in particular, seem to be the triggering device that allows for the rapid transformation of investor psychology from manic greed to paranoia. He asks what the odds are that eight of the greatest market crashes in history would accidentally fall within a time period of six days before to three days after a full moon that occurred within six weeks of a solar eclipse? His answer is that for all eight crashes to accidentally fall within the required intervals would be .23 raised to the eighth power less than one chance in 127,000." ". . .Puetz) used eight previous crashes in various markets from the Holland Tulip Mania in 1637 through the Tokyo crash in 1990. He noted that market crashes tend to be lumped near the full moons that are also lunar eclipses. In fact, he states, the greatest number of crashes start after the first full moon after a solar eclipse when that full moon is also a lunar eclipse . . Once the panic starts, Puetz notes, it generally lasts from two to four weeks. The tendency has been for the markets to peak a few days ahead of the full moon, move flat to slightly lower --waiting for the full moon to pass. Then on the day of the full moon or slightly after, the brunt of the crash hits the marketplace."

If the same crash pattern truly is repeating here, then the total lunar eclipse occurring as I'm writing this might prove to be "the triggering device that allows for the rapid transformation of investor psychology from manic greed to paranoia". If so, then as discovered by Chris Carolan, a panic climax should occur going into the next new moon which is a solar eclipse on September 11th.

But what might trigger a panic at this hitorical juncture? While we might simply be facing a global financial panic that started with the subprime mortgage meltdown, there is reason to believe that something more will occur in the days ahead that will upset the world.

According to my studies of history over the years, mass mood swings between optimism and pessimism in somewhat predictable waves, and these waves appear to unfold in connection with astroharmonics. More specifically, major turning points appear to occur around the times of signficant planetary alignments, such as occurred this month . Then, as discovered by Puetz, cathartic breaks in mass emotion are triggered by solar and lunar eclipses. However, as explained in my other writings, when cyclical panics hit Wall Street, they are sometimes caused by seemingly exogenous historical shocks like the 1990 Persian Gulf Crisis and the terrorist attacks on 9/11/01. This is made clear by examining what has happened in the past as the DJIA reverses from psychologically important thousand marks.

Thus, at the current juncture, in the wake of the stock market topping at Dow 14,000 in connection with a major planetary alignment earlier this month , will a mass panic ensue triggered by the total lunar eclipse now occurring? Will this panic climax going into the solar eclipse on 9/11? And if there is a panic, will it be caused by some sort of historical shock?

So that you may better understand just how potent eclipses can be for mass emotion and world history, below is 22 recent examples of when eclipses coincided with important historical events...

1. *April 24th, 1986: Total eclipse of the Moon conjunct Pluto.

The following evening the Chernobyl disaster occurred in the Ukraine.

Notably this configuration involved the planet Pluto represents nuclear technology (e.g., "Pluto" is the root of the world "pluto"nium).


2. *October 7th, 1987 : Lunar eclipse.

Marked the beginning of a 13 day collapse in stock prices on Wall Street culminating in the October 19th stock market crash.

3. *July 22nd, 1990: Total solar eclipse conjunct Jupiter & opposed by Saturn.

Marked when Iraq began massing forces on the Kuwaiti border just prior to the 1990 invasion.
 

4. *August 2nd thru 7th, 1990: Lunar eclipse squares Mars and Pluto.

In the Market Watch section of the July 16th, 1990 issue of 'Barron's', there is an excerpt from the newsletter of financial astrologer Arch Crawford. It reads in part:

"...Aug. 6 (Lunar Eclipse squares Mars + Pluto). Expect some major catastrophe on that last one, Aug. 2-7, as something explodes in a big way... Astronomically similar to the Chernobyl disaster..."

On August 2nd, Iraq invaded Kuwait precipitating the Persian Gulf crisis and beginning of years of conflict between the U.S. and Iraq.
 

5. *January 15th, 1991: Solar eclipse (at 11:59 pm on 1/15/91) with 6-planet alignment in Capricorn (note: in astrology the Sun and Moon are considered planets).

January 15th, 1991 was the U.N. deadline for Iraq to pull-out of Kuwait before the allied attack a day later- the beginning of the Gulf War.

According to an ancient Babylonian prophecy, "when all the planets meet in Capricorn the world will be destroyed by fire". In January of 1991, there was a six-planet alignment in Capricorn, and Venus, Jupiter and Pluto were heavily aspected in Capricorn and in tension with each other. Thus, from the perspective of someone in Iraq and the site of ancient Babylon, their "world was destroyed by fire" as forecast in this astrological prophecy (see Moira Timms' 'Beyond Prophecies and Predictions', pp.206 & 209).
 

6. *June 26th, 1991: Lunar eclipse. Pluto squared (90-degree angle) by an alignment of Venus, Mars and Jupiter.

Marked the beginning of the civil war in the former Yugoslavia.

7. *December 21st, 1991: Lunar eclipse on the winter solstice.

The end of the Soviet Union. The Soviet flag comes down and the Russian flag is raised over the Kremlin as the Soviet Union is officially disbanded. Eleven of the twelve former republics of the Soviet Union meet in Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan and establish the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), thereby abolishing the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics

A few days after this, on Christmas day, Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev resigns.
 

8. *June 30th, 1992: Solar eclipse of lunar/solar eclipse pair. This eclipse was aligned with Venus, Uranus and Neptune and sextiled (60-degree angle) Mars and Jupiter.

First U.N. forces arrive in Sarajevo as Western military intervention in the former Yugoslavia begins.


9. *November 18th, 1994: Lunar eclipse of solar/lunar eclipse pair. Eclipse is aligned with Pluto and Jupiter, squares (90- degree angle) Mars and trines (120-degree angle) Uranus and Neptune.

Croatian Serb warplanes bomb the U.N.-protected Bihac enclave in violation of a NATO-enforced "no-fly zone". NATO responds by bombing Serb positions. This is the first major use of military force against the Serbs by NATO in the Balkan conflict and the first offensive military action ever taken by NATO in the 45-year history of the Alliance.

10. *April 15th, 1994: Lunar eclipse.

Terrorist bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City four days later.
   

11. *April 3rd, 1996: Total lunar eclipse conjunct Mars and squared by Jupiter.

North Korea pulls out of the Korean War Armistice and then carries out a series of provocative armed incursions in the Demilitarized Zone separating the two Koreas.
   

12. *September 26th, 1996: Total lunar eclipse conjunct Saturn, the planet of fate as well as the planet of the Jewish people, and squared by Jupiter, the planet of leaders.

The fate of Russian leader Boris Yeltsin is placed in jeapordy as he undergoes heart bypass surgery.

Meanwhile, the fate of the Jewish people is placed in jeapordy as the worst bloodshed in the Occupied Territories since Israel overran them in 1967 erupts.

13. *September 1st, 1997: Solar eclipse conjunct Mercury and squared by Pluto.

Princess Diana killed in a tragic auto accident.
 

14. *August 7th, 1998: Lunar eclipse conjunct Uranus.

Simultaneous al Qaeda terrorist bombings destroy U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania killing 12 U.S. citizens and more than 200 Kenyans and Tanzanians and wounded thousands more.The terrorist attacks occurred on the anniversary of when economic sanctions were imposed against Iraq in 1990.
 

15. *August 21st, 1998: Solar eclipse. Mars opposes Neptune. Venus opposes Uranus.

Going into the eclipse, the U.S. launches retaliatory missile attacks against terrorist targets linked to Osama bin Laden in Sudan and Afghanistan.
 

16. *February 16th, 1999: Solar eclipse.

Serbian leader Slobodan Milosevic rejects a peace proposal presented to him by the West that requires allowing NATO troops in Kosovo. Belgrade's decision triggered NATO's war against Serbia.
 

17. *August 11th-17th, 1999: Lunar eclipse and Grand Cross Alignment of the planets.

Vladimir Putin, Russia's future President, becomes Prime Minister.


18. *November 20th, 2002: Lunar eclipse conjunct Mercury squared by Uranus.

Al Qaeda suicide bombers kill 12 people at an Israeli-owned beach hotel in Kenya and two missiles narrowly miss an airliner carrying home Israeli holidaymakers.

19. *May 14-15th, 2003: Exact conjunction of Mars and Neptune and Lunar Eclipse.

Four explosions rock Riyadh, the Saudi capital, in an attack on compounds housing Americans, other Westerners and Saudis. Eight Americans are among the 34 people killed. Officials linked the attacks to al-Qaeda.

20. *November 9th, 2003: Lunar eclipse squared by Neptune and in grand trine with Mars and Saturn.

Al-Qaida terrorist suicide car bombing devastates Riyadh, Saudi Arabia housing complex, killing at least 11 people and wounding more than 120.

On November 15th, between Ramadan lunar and solar eclipses, Al Qaeda terrorists car bomb the Neve Shalom Synagogue and Beth Israel Synagogue in Istanbul, Turkey; 20 killed, hundreds wounded, included at least 36 children.

21. *October 27th, 2004 : Total lunar eclipse.

The Red Sox win the World Series for the first time since 1918. The lunar eclipse is visible over Fenway Park as the historic game is played.

22. *April 8th, 2005 : Solar eclipse.

Pope John Paul II's funeral and burial.

Pope John was also born with a solar eclipse on May 18th, 1920. According to the prophecy of Saint Malachy, there would be 112 popes from 1139 to the end of the world and for each pope Malachy gave a descriptive phrase or sentence. The descriptive phrase given for Pope John Paul II, the 110th pope since 1139, was "De labore Solis" or 'from the labour of the sun'.
